IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE: TWO-HOUR DELAY FOR MORGAN COUNTY CHARTER SCHOOLS Out of abundance of caution, Morgan County Charter Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, January 23, 2025. We encourage everyone to use extra caution due to road conditions in certain areas. Tardiness will not be counted against anyone, so please be safe and contact your child's school if you experience any problems. The Morgan County Charter Schools community is mourning the loss of two of the best of Morgan County due to a tragic accident that occurred over the holiday weekend.There are no words that can ease the sorrow and sadness we feel right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of these exceptional young men. MCCS is focused on providing additional support and resources. Our counselors will be present at Morgan County Middle School for support for our students, staff, families and community. Processing this news is going to take time, and we will be here for every student, every family, and every staff member. Like always, we will teach and lead with our hearts today. We know there will be tough days ahead for Morgan County, but together we will help each other as a “ One Morgan” family. 📣NOTICE OF SCHOOL EARLY RELEASE📣 Due to the forecasted winter weather projected for our area, Morgan County Charter Schools will release 2 hours early on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. All after-school programs and activities are canceled. MCCS is monitoring the weather and will make a determination regarding Wednesday's schedule by Tuesday afternoon. Congratulations to our Morgan County Board of Education members sworn in last night during the January 13, 2025 Board of Education meeting. Ms. Cheryl Bland, Mr. Brad Hawk and Mr. Joe Slaughter were sworn in by Morgan County Probate Judge Charles Merritt.

As a result, all after-school games, practices, programs, activities, and meetings scheduled for tomorrow are canceled. Information regarding Saturday’s events will be communicated directly by your child’s coach or event coordinator. To account for this closure, MCCS will now be open and in person on January 31, 2025, which was previously scheduled as a Digital Learning Day. 🏀 A Legendary Moment in Morgan County History 🏀 Join us on Friday, December 20th, as we honor one of our very own, BJ Elder, by retiring his high school jersey! This special ceremony will take place between the girls’ and boys’ basketball games at Morgan County High School. BJ Elder’s extraordinary contributions to Morgan County basketball and his legacy as a Bulldog will forever be etched in our hearts.
