Classroom:
We will get the most out of every minute of instructional time for every child in the class. Led by an enthusiastic, expert teacher, and supported by quality instructional materials and technology, this classroom will be place every child looks forward to entering every day. This teacher will be knowledgeable in his/her subject area, skilled in the use of current instructional resources, and will measure his or her success by the success of his or her students. Teachers will have the expertise to address the needs and abilities of every student, regardless of current academic status or learning capacity. Struggling students will learn how to learn independently. High achieving students will learn how to stretch themselves intellectually. All will feel at home.
School:
Our schools will be safe, clean and inviting to all who enter. Led by the best educational leaders and support staff, they are focused on one thing: learning. Everything we do at school is designed to promote balanced growth in our students in their academic and intellectual pursuits, their athletic and artistic endeavors and their social maturation. Our schools will reflect the best of small community life: positive relationships, relevance, compassion, encouragement and high expectations for success.
System:
The future of Morgan County Schools is linked to her past. People are moving to Morgan County because they seek the quality of life we currently enjoy. We have to balance the need for change in our structure, organization and methodology without wavering in our commitment to the core values of integrity, compassion and encouragement where our students are concerned. The foundation of community support for our children and their learning is solid. Our new citizens will value that tradition of support as much as our citizens who grew up here.
Morgan County Schools will be known for these things:
- We will put children first.
- We will do everything we do with integrity.
- We will do everything we do in a first class manner.
- We will be good stewards of our resources, including our funds, our human resources and our time.
